I was waking up constantly with really bad migraines and with jaw issues, and knew that I needed to come in and be fitted for something that would be helpful. And so Dr. Wilburn discussed with me my options that she thought would be best, and I got one of the night guards that she suggested, and I sleep so much better now. I have a lot less migraines. One thing she also did for me to take me out of immediate pain was to give me…she administered Botox in my jaw areas on both sides, and that gave me immediate relief and was really helpful as well.
I grew up going to a local family practice as well, so I have been to other places as well. And I think being from a small town, I’m used to that element of feeling comfortable with my dentist and feeling like I have a relationship with them. So the fact that I feel like Lauren is willing to, like, get to know her patients and take time to, you know, establish relationships, that’s huge, versus some of the big-name brand offices, you’re just not gonna get that.
I mean, I feel like she is my friend. But I feel like when I’m coming in, her personality is very much like talking to a friend, someone that’s easy to communicate with. I think that she is, you know, not overly intimidating. If you have any questions, like, she’s gonna be more than willing to answer what you need to know. I think that she has made me feel comfortable in situations where I’ve worried. Like, there’s no element of, like, panic or freak-out. She is good at staying calm and making, you know, levelheaded decisions when… I know dentistry world is something that gives a lot of people anxiety.

She’s very kind. She gets some of my sense of humor I have. Like I said, she come in, she asked me what I needed, where I was hurting, the kind of things that you’d hope that a doctor would come in and do. I mean, make sure that they think about the patient. It’s not a rush thing. They don’t come in, hurry, and get out. I mean, she takes her time with you, asks you, you know, where you’re at that day, what needs to be done. And so I think she’s very empathetic to whatever’s going on with the patient.
The staff’s great. They have very good bedside manners. They always have, you know, chairside manners. They’re always smiling. When they meet you they greet you. They call you by your name, “Come on back, Steve. We’ll need to get you on back.” You know, they know your name, they know who you are. You feel like it’s kind of a family atmosphere.

Dr. Wilburn’s chairside manner is above and beyond. She’s very welcoming, she’s very kind, very calming, and does a really good job. The things that the staff do here that make me feel very comfortable is they’re always very welcoming with a big smile. They make me feel like they’re actually happy to see me, and I appreciate that.
I’ve been having trouble with my teeth for the last about 10 years. I’ve gone through a weight loss program and I’ve lost a lot of weight, I’ve lost, like, 120 pounds. In that weight loss time, I’m sure I’ve had some nutrition problems because I have been doing, you know, all these yo-yo diets and all this stuff, and then finally, I had a diet I stick with. I had a surgery done, and so now I’ve lost the weight. And so the teeth were not getting the care they needed to be getting.
And so now I floss, I do all the stuff I’m called to do. I get regular cleanings here through the office. It’s a good thing to do that. They do a great job cleaning. I don’t have to worry about them hurting me. And I’ve had that happen before in other places where they’d clean your teeth and you’d come out, your mouth will be really sore, and you just dread going back.
And I’ll be honest with you, as a kid, I had a fear of dentists, but I don’t have that fear now. And so I have better dental hygiene, feel better about myself. I recommend them. I mean, they’re just doing great jobs.

I think that when you walk in and you have a homey environment and something that feels calm and comfortable, you know, versus something so sterile, it is a huge buffer to feeling like you can take a deep breath, you know, no matter if you’re coming in for a cleaning or for, you know, more intensive work. But that, and just the communication, you know, going above and beyond to explain in steps what they’re doing and checking on you multiple times along the way, I think that all of those things, you know, just make you feel like you have a little bit of control in the situation because… I do know it’s not bad for me. I mean, I feel like no one loves dental work, but I really do look forward to cleanings because I feel like I feel my mouth feels so good afterwards.
I had two teeth that had broke. They was trying to decide whether or not to do a root canal or do caps on them, and I just didn’t… I really didn’t had a lot of good luck with the caps. At previous places, they tried and it was a lot of expense going on, and so I said, “Well, what about implants?” And I asked her about my age and everything if that’s still an option. And she said, “Yeah, everything’s fine about that.”
And so they referred me to a place they work with out of Nashville, and they did the implants, and now I’ve got permanent teeth. It’s just like chewing… And before, I had a gap there, and they put in two implants. And my daughter had to have some implants, and then she had a good experience with it. So I thought, “Well, I’m gonna try it.”
And so I did that, and now I’m very pleased, I’ve got the implants. I can chew just like I could before. I don’t have to worry about having gaps in my teeth or the appearance. You know, people see you got these gaps in your smile, and so now everything’s in good shape.

It’s important for me to have a family dentist because she is a part of our life. Is able to help keep all of us healthy and on track. She knows this on a personal level as well. It’s not just something professional only but also knows us as a family. It is extremely helpful for all of us to be able to come in at one time and get all of our treatments and our needs met, and to be able to walk back out together. It saves time out of our busy schedules. We appreciate the care that she gives from right here.
I’m, like, kind of a hippie at heart anyway. And I think that the more that you read into oral health, it affects your whole body. And I just think knowing that my mouth is well taken care of, especially I’ve gone through multiple pregnancies and oral health, and pregnancy has really strong ties to, like, your general health too. Knowing that everything looks good and my gum health is good mentally makes me feel like that’s a big check off the list. And also just knowing your smile looks clean and well taken care of I think improves anyone’s confidence in general communication or at your job and just life in general. I feel like your teeth and your eyes and your smell are what people are gonna be generally looking at as far as first impressions and then getting to know someone in any situation.
Been very good. I’ve had two implants put in, and they fitted my teeth. Only had a few adjustments I had to make. They recommended a good surgeon to do that work, and then I come back and they did the aftercare, and so I’m still in that process. They’ve done a great job with that, and reassured me, you know, things were not exactly right, what I need to do, and make sure that I understood the process and understood the cost. They’re always upfront about what the cost’s gonna be, and that’s a good thing. Nowadays in our, you know, economy, sometimes you need to know what it’s gonna cost before you do it. No surprises. They let you know upfront, and make arrangements with you to make sure you get the care you need.
